The ability to write – or more like the willingness to write is a primary skill for the Internet marketer. In truth if you can talk, you can write. That’s all there is to it. It is about carrying on a conversation only in this way it is a one-way conversation. You are actually addressing the whole world, literally, and many types of people may read your content and see it in a different way.
Not exactly like talking to yourself but not getting any direct response, so you have to kind of keep the conversation going on your own. A question and answer format is still a real (good) possibility however. In fact that is actually a good way to define the various features or functions of whatever it is you are promoting with your business.
In fact specifically, you can pose a problem (the question) and then describe the solution (the answer) which oddly enough involves what you are selling! An example would be for example ‘Do you suffer from not having enough money to enjoy your life’? (problem) ‘If you answered yes, then you may need to really check out this money-making opportunity. (solution)
Facts and statistics are very powerful (proofs) that may really make the difference between someone taking you seriously or not. So a few things you can do are to list the features or functions of the product or service. Take advantage of it whenever you can quote something like a study or any statement you may find by doing some research on the Internet (search engines). This might also include ‘testimonials’ as long as they are honest (not paid for or bribed).
You will have opportunities to write ads, long and short, post to your blog, to social network ‘walls’, in business forums, in email communications, and if you create an eBook. None of these require that you be a professional writer or that you create Pulitzer Prize winning content. It just requires you to be somewhat clear and honest. It is important to just start doing it rather than to always feel you don’t know enough or you really don’t write well. Yes you can if you just try!
It is pretty important to ‘dot your i’s and cross your t’s’ though, as grammar and spelling do represent your business. You don’t want to give the impression you are sloppy and especially you want to make it easy for people to understand what you are trying to say. There is a saying that you ‘don’t get a second chance to make a first impression’ so keep that in mind as your writing may be the one chance you have to interest someone or to cause someone to trust you.
It may really help you if you build a list of compelling or what are called ‘power’ words to use in your writing. They say if you don’t grab someone’s interest in the first few seconds they won’t read the rest and may leave your page. Start studying the ads you see online and just write down the words that got your attention. Then use them especially in the title when you write your ads and etc.
Write On!
